Tier 4 engine

Update your equipment with Kohler Engines’ Tier 4 Final emission-compliant diesel engines, the 1.9 liter KDI1903TCR and 2.5 liter KDI2504TCR, which do not use a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The engines feature a direct injection system, cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and diesel oxygenated catalyst (DOC). The high-pressure common rail system (CSR) uses pressures at 29,000 psi.

No gas needed

Core Outdoor Power’s GasLess line trimmer, available in early 2012, uses an electric motor capable of producing torque rotary motion at high efficiencies and power densities. Weighing 11 pounds with its power cell, the trimmer runs up to 70 minutes and charges in three hours. It has a head speed of 7,000 rpm in speed mode and 5,000 in torque mode.

Battery operated

Eliminate emissions and cut down on the sound level with Mean Green Products’ CXR-62 commercial electric ZTR mower. Using a battery with a 350 to 400 charge cycle, the CXR-62 goes up to 9 mph and has a 62-inch deck size. It can mow up to 4 acres on one charge, or 120 minutes, and batteries recharge in five hours.

Expanding products

Exmark will expand its lawn care line in early 2012 to include five commercial-grade turf management products, including aerators, a slicer seeder and a turf rake. The aerators will be a 21-inch S-Series single hydro, 24-inch X-Series dual hydro and 30-inch stand-on. The 20-inch slicer seeder will have verticutting reels and a wide, stable base. Their 18-inch turf rake will include 24 flail blades.

Dig or lift

Available in both radial- and vertical-lift models, the Case Construction Equipment Alpha Series skid steers range from 46 to 90 horsepower, with rated operating capacities from 1,300 to 3,000 pounds. The radial lift machines are engineered for digging, prying and pushing, while vertical lift models are ideal for lift-and-carry applications.

Eight forward, reverse speeds

Ariens’ two-stage Deluxe 24 Sno-Thro features a 24-inch clearing width and is powered by a 249-cc Ariens Polar Force engine by Briggs & Stratton. It has a 14-inch-diameter impeller with a 3- to 50-foot throwing distance. The Deluxe 24 Sno-Thro has six forward and two reverse speeds, as well as a 2.9-quart fuel capacity. The all-steel discharge chute rotates 200 degrees.

Denison Landscaping and Nursery in Fort Washington, Maryland, will be the first landscapers to purchase the 2012 Roush CleanTech Ford F-250 and F-350 propane autogas trucks when they become available. Subaru’s line of SGX commercial generators is available in three models: SGX3500, SGX5000 and the SGX7500E. Their maximum output ranges from 3,500 to 7,300 watts, and they have a fuel tank capacity from 4 to 8 gallons. The SGX line features an automatic voltage regulator system that provides a precise voltage control output.
