Deere unveils Z-Trak Estate series mowers
John Deere’s new Z-Trak Estate zero-turn mowers are designed to cover more acres faster with more dependability. Reducing unit complexity was key to the design, so Deere engineers cut two-thirds of the parts in the mower’s hydraulic system, removed 41 parts from the previous mower deck design and eliminated 50 percent of the previous mower’s electrical switches. As a result, Deere says Z-Trak mowers are more reliable and make fewer fuel stops. A 40-percent increase in hydraulic pump size and a 14-percent larger Kawasaki engine allow Z-Trak Estate models to mow up to 12 mph.

Nufarm’s Dynamo offers two-sided lawn protection
Nufarm America’s new pre-emergent herbicide provides both pre-emergent weed coverage, as well as early post-emergent control of many broadleaf and grassy weeds, including crabgrass. Using dithiopry as an active ingredient, Dynamo is formulated to be non-staining while giving season long control of barnyardgrass, goosegrass, foxtail and a number of summer annuals such as spurge and oxalis. Dynamo can be applied through most standard sprayers after dissolution and thorough mixing with water according to label instructions.

Focus on protection with CoreTect tablets
Bayer Environmental Science has introduced its CoreTect tablets to combat tree and shrub disease. The tablets are for use on established plants or during the installation process and work by triggering enzymatic pathways that produce antioxidants resulting in better tree and shrub stress defense and more efficient use of nutrients and water. Bayer says trees and shrubs treated with CoreTect tablets spend less energy fighting off environmental stresses and more energy developing healthy root systems and shoot growth.
