Here’s what you need to make the most of GIE+EXPO

With GIE+EXPO and Landscapes 2016 only eight days away now, there are a number of things you can take care of before you even hit the show floor.

The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) has session handouts available for all of the educational events for Landscapes 2016 available here. Only those registered for the conference have access to the handouts. Attendees can take a look at the points ahead of time to see what sort of questions they would like to ask.

The Landscapes 2016 app is also now available on iTunes and Google Play. Users can search for exhibitors, request meetings and locate booths on the show floor with the app. The schedule shows all the available educational sessions, workshops and other events.

Individuals can select their favorite exhibitors and events to create a personalized planner for the whole show. The app also pulls in all the tweets related to GIE+EXPO and Landscapes so users can read, comment and check out the buzz at certain booths.

For those interested in entering the political ring to promote and protect industry-friendly candidates and campaigns, NALP is still selling tickets for its PAC-a-Punch Fundraiser and Reception. Landscape professionals can enjoy cocktails and conversation about the NALP Political Action Committee at the Muhammad Ali Center on Wednesday, Oct. 19

Once at the show, attendees can pick up all their registration materials at the Louisville Marriott Downtown on Wednesday, Oct. 19, or at the Kentucky Expo Center on Thursday or Friday.

During Landscapes 2016, members can become a Safe Company Program participant for $75. As a participant in the program, you receive a customizable electronic Safe Company Program Manual, an electronic copy of the Safety Benchmarking Report and the Safety Tailgate Training Manual. Your company will also be recognized on NALP’s website as a safe company and have access to safety webinars and a free safety adviser.

After the show, the fee goes up to $100. You can sign up for this program at booth 3134 or at the NALP bookstore, which is near registration in the Marriott.

Also during the show, Hardscape North America will be holding its awards recognition presentation on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 4 p.m. in the trade show classroom.

Contractors’ projects that were considered outstanding in both commercial and residential applications will be highlighted.
