John Deere is now offering its telematics system, JDLink, as a factory-installed option on all new large-frame G-Series skid steers, 330G and 332G, and compact track loaders 331G and 333G.

JDLink allows landscape contractors to track their equipment and analyze opportunities to increase profit on jobsites.

“John Deere has invested heavily over the last decade to become a leading technology solutions provider, not just a manufacturer that produces world-class machines,” said Paul Garcia, John Deere WorkSight product manager. “Our goal is to provide solutions, not just data, and our exclusive JDLink offering is the gateway to increased productivity, helping customers centrally and smartly manage their entire fleet and grow their business.”

Offered as a solution to the aftermarket “slap and track” method, the telematics system is installed as the machine is built in Dubuque, Iowa.

Owners can remotely monitor fuel and DEF levels as well as when machines are idling excessively or running at very high loads for long periods of time.

JDLink also allows users to identify when a machine needs attention and can track preventive maintenance needs with the Maintenance Manager application that makes ordering online parts easy and efficient.

“Our customers asked for telematics capabilities on compact equipment, and we’re now delivering it as a factory option with a competitive, three-year subscription on our new large-frame skid steers and compact track loaders,” Garcia said.

Another benefit that JDLink provides is increased vehicle security. Compact equipment has some of the highest theft rates for construction machines.

John Deere’s telematics solution enables both geofencing and curfews that allow the user to set certain boundaries and time frames. If the machine is out of bounds, an instant alert will be sent to the owner.
