The battery-powered outdoor equipment manufacturer Greenworks Tools opened its new 40,000-square-foot headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina, yesterday.

The office space is now located in part of the 1.1 million-square-foot historic Mooresville Cotton Mill that was revitalized several years ago.

“I am honored that Greenworks Tools chose Mooresville,” said Russ Rogerson, executive director of Mooresville-South Iredell Economic Development Corporation. “Our business climate and quality of life continue to make us extremely attractive to business.”

Greenworks Tools is known for its lightweight battery-powered equipment and offers products for both professionals and consumers. Its outdoor power equipment includes 24-volt, 40-volt, 60-volt, 80-volt and 82-volt options.

“Today is an important milestone in our brand’s history,” said Chris Allen, president of Greenworks Tools. “Greenworks was founded on a culture of innovation and sustainability and we are redefining the outdoor power equipment industry. We now have a gorgeous and inspiring state-of-the-art headquarters to continue our dynamic growth.”

The company distributes Greenworks branded and private label products, along with products for a network of original equipment manufacturers.

STIHL teams up with North American Retail Hardware Association

STHIL is partnering with North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) to help foster leadership skills in hardware retailers.

The Foundations of Leadership Program’s aim is to promote the development of personal leadership skills in young, aspiring retail leaders. The 16-week online course will start April 2017. The curriculum is being created between Ball State University’s John H. Schnatter Institute for Principled Entrepreneurship and independent retailers.

“One of the greatest challenges facing small businesses in general, and the retail hardware retailer specifically, is the professional development of leaders who will be responsible for the future success of their businesses,” said Roger Phelps, corporate communications manager for STHIL Inc. “We retail our products exclusively through servicing dealers, and hardware retailers are an ever-increasing part of our dealer network. These businesses have always been at the heart of our success, so investing in their future is a perfect fit for who we are as a brand.”

STIHL will also become the exclusive sponsor of the Foundations of Leadership Annual Conference, which is scheduled August 1-3.
