During the ICUEE tradeshow earlier this month, Volvo debuted the L20H and L25H compact wheel loaders.

These are now the smallest two models in Volvo’s six-model lineup of compact wheel loaders and both are powered by a 64-horsepower Volvo D2.6M Tier 4 Final engine.

Both models are said to have five percent greater fuel efficiency and eight percent more horsepower than their previous models. Volvo has also improved cycle times and the models come with two speed setting. The fully automatic hydrostatic drive can reach a maximum speed of 18.6 mph.

“In the previous machine, 12 mph was the maximum, now it’s near 19 mph,” said John Comrie, Volvo product manager.

The machines can maneuver tight jobsites with ease thanks to a 26-foot-11-inch turning radius. With an 8-foot-1-inch profile, the L20H and L25H can easily load and unload inside containers.

“This is a popular sized machine for landscapers and garden supply operations,” Comrie said.

The machines also feature a parallel lift system that is designed for digging, using forks or truck loading. Operators can use a SSL Attachment Bracket for skid steer attachments or an ISO coupler for Volvo attachments.

Users have a single joystick lever in the cab to control three functions and a flow sharing valve that allows lift and tilt corrections during attachment operation.

The models also have operator-activated 100 percent differential locks on the front and rear axle. A single inching brake pedal can be used for when working at a slow pace.

“It’s great if you’re plowing snow or working in other adverse conditions,” Comrie said.

“We’ve been working very hard to add innovative attachments to our line and the Mega Mixer is the newest home run,” said Glenn Danuser, company co-owner. “Our famers, cattle producers, landscapers and contractors are the real winners here and we look forward to helping them with their material handling needs.”

The attachment comes with two auger options, either all-steel or rubber flighted. The rubber option is better for wet materials. The Mega Mixer has an 8-inch diameter auger that can dispense a full hopper up to 2 inches of material in under 35 seconds.

The Mega Mixer also includes integrated chute storage, bag busters, klik pin holders, a lockable discharge gate and yardage markers.

“Whether an operator chooses to go with an all-steel or rubber flighted auger option, the Mega Mixer has the performance to handle a variety of materials, saving the operator’s time on the farm or the job site,” Danuser said.
