Small enough to maneuver into hard-to-reach areas of a jobsite while boasting what the company says is the largest cab in its size class, Wacker Neuson has introduced a new mini excavator in the ET16.

The new machine, which will be available in early 2017, will replace the 1404 model. It’s powered by an 18-horsepower, 3-cylinder Yanmar diesel engine. Designed for navigating narrow passages, the ET16 features a telescopic undercarriage that can be extended from 39 inches to 51 inches.

With an operating weight of 1.5 tons, Wacker Neuson says the ET16 can be used on sensitive soils. The machine has a digging depth of about 88 inches and a maximum dump height of 98 inches.

The fully-glazed cab offers plenty of head and legroom and a wide view of the jobsite. It features a two-piece front windshield that can be pushed completely under the roof of the cab.

Wacker Neuson says all service-related parts are easily accessible on the ET16. And with a transport weight of 1.4 tons, the company says, the mini excavator can be transported on a car trailer.
