Lawn-care seminars aim to create fierce competitors

ThriveFinalLogoFor landscapers interested in continuing education, Bayer CropScience and The Harvest Group are bringing their “Thrive” lawn-care seminar to cities in Texas and Florida in the coming weeks. At the center of the one-day seminar is the Harvest Group’s “Are you a fierce competitor?” program. The registration fee is $85.

Sponsors say participants will learn strategies for effective planning, goal setting, performance milestones and working with people. Upon leaving the seminar, they promise, those who attend will think and live with a “fierce competitor” mindset. Among other topics, the Thrive seminar will include presentations on pre- and post-emergent weed control, warm-season turf disease control and pollinator health.

Participants will receive education materials, refreshments and lunch, 20,000 MyBayerRewards points, free samples of Armada 50 WDG, a CD version of the book Green Side Up. Continuing education credits are available as well, although the specifics of that provision depend on state requirements. The seminars will be in Dallas on June 23, Houston on June 24, Daytona Beach, Florida, on July 7 and West Palm Beach on July 8.
