Ditch Witch unveiled new mini skid steers at GIE+EXPO in Louisville, Kentucky. The manufacturer says the construction-grade machines were designed to improve their owners’ return on investment for a variety of landscape, hardscape and irrigation tasks.

The largest, the Ditch Witch SK1050, directs more hydraulic power to the attachment than competitors’ machines, the company says. Its 37-horsepower, Tier 4 Yanmar diesel engine provides 33 percent more power for all machine functions than competitive units, according to Ditch Witch, and the construction-grade design is built for heavy-duty operations.

Best-in-class, 83-inch hinge-pin height enables more flexible and efficient loading and unloading at a wide range of dump heights, while the improved operating capacity ensures the machine can withstand maximum weight at maximum height.

The SK1050 is capable of 4.7 miles per hour ground speed in both forward and reverse, and Ditch Witch says its isolated operator platform enhances comfort for long hours on the job. The machine has no daily maintenance points, reducing total cost of ownership.

Another mini skid steer on display at the trade show last week, the Ditch Witch SK600, also delivers best-in-class power to the attachment, the manufacturer says.

A Ditch Witch product specialist at GIE+EXPO said the SK600 gives landscapers substantial power in a smaller package “and at a price point that’s attractive for a machine with these capabilities.”

Designed for small-scale landscape and irrigation jobs, the Ditch Witch SK600 mini skid steer has a narrow frame for better maneuverability in tight spaces. The machine is 33.5 inches wide; the bucket is 34 inches wide.

The SK600 is powered by a 24.8-horsepower Kubota diesel engine.

Ditch Witch says the ergonomic operator station with optimized hydraulics offers the smoothest ride in the industry. The mini skid steer is equipped with an auxiliary-control foot pedal, enabling operators to maintain hydraulic flow to the attachment while freeing their hands to control depth and ground speed.
