Takeuchi’s TS80 skid steers feature simplified maintenance

While landscapers probably opt for Takeuchi’s smaller TS50 and TS60 skid steers for most jobs, the company’s TS80 lineup, seen here, may be a better fit for major projects. Takeuchi has added to their skid steer product line with the TS80, the largest model in the company’s lineup. Featuring a 74-horsepower Tier 4 Final Deutz engine, the TS80 delivers 192 foot-pounds of torque at 1,800 rpm, and also has a maintenance-free diesel oxidation catalyst that requires no regeneration, cleaning or diesel exhaust fluid.

The TS80 is available in both a radial lift and vertical lift model. The radial lift version, the TS80R2, weighs in at 7,950 pounds with a rated operating capacity of 2,825 pounds. The skid steer has a bucket breakout force of 5,845 pounds, a 7,080-pound lift arm force and a maximum hinge pin height of 10 feet 5 inches.

The vertical lift model, the TS80V2, weighs 8,965 pounds and has a 3,500-pound rated operating capacity. The model has a 5,920-pound bucket breakout force, a 6,200-pound lift arm force and a maximum hinge pin height of 10 feet 10 inches.

Takeuchi touts its TS80 skid steers as both maneuverable and comfortable, with a well-equipped operator’s station with a lower threshold that eases entry and exit. Available options include ride control, bucket positioning and high-flow auxiliary hydraulics.

David Steger, product manager, says the machines also offer a productivity boost. “Uptime has been improved,” he says, “and daily maintenance points, such as fluid level checks and greasing access, have been improved and simplified as well.”

Takeuchi’s skid steer lineup also includes the smaller TS50 and TS60 models.
