Fire pits serve as focal points, highlight your client’s style

According to a March study by the American Society of Landscape Architects, fire pits and fire places ranked fourth among the top-10 trends for residential landscape projects in 2015.

Their popularity is drawing attention. Money magazine, for example, recently highlighted its top five fire-pit picks for “when you have money to burn”:

  1. The Modern Fire Pit Vessel (pictured here): A $2,225 portable black granite Saturn fire vessel with lava rock from Stone Forest, was used in an outdoor living area designed by Phil Kean Designs in Winter Park, Florida.
  2. Concrete and copper fire bowls: Decorative fire bowls surround the pool at a home in in Naples, Florida. Designed by Marc-Michaels Interior Design, the circular fire pit is by Grand Effects.
  3. Gas fire pit table: Installed by AAA Landscape Specialists for $3,200 in a San Diego, California, outdoor living project for a single-family residence.
  4. Permanent stone fire pit: Built by Alderwood Landscaping in Sammamish, Washington, the $7,500 backyard fire pit features basalt boulders and natural stone veneers.
  5. Round stone fire pit: For $12,000, the professionals of House of L designed an affordable luxury fire pit fit in Aurora, Ohio.
