Vacuworx has introduced another application for skid steers, the SS2 Vacuum Lifting System.

In addition to landscape pavers, the company says, the SS2 skid-steer attachment can lift steel plate, saw-cut concrete, marble and granite slabs, and do it faster and safer than other equipment.

Vacuworx says the all-aluminum SS2 is lightweight – 98 pounds, including the mounting plate – and can be attached easily to any skid steer. Quick-attach hydraulic hoses and the “universal” mounting plate make attachment changes simple and fast, the company says.

The SS2 can also be used with a variety of mini excavators or small cranes by employing the clevis hook connection.

The new attachment has a lifting capacity of up to 2,716 pounds. It is 28 inches long, 20.75 inches high and 28 inches wide.

It operates using the hydraulics of the host machine, with a minimum of 10 GPM required with maximum 3000 PSI. Vacuworx says the vacuum seal holds until the operator activates the release, even in the event of a power outage.
