Liebherr Construction Equipment Co. to roll out the new R924 Compact Swing Excavator at World of Concrete during the Operators™ Precision Challenge.

The new R924 Compact Swing excavator is scheduled to make its debut at the 2009 World of Concrete trade show. This compact excavator belongs to a new generation of Liebherr machines. It features a newly developed Liebherr diesel engine D936S that meets the new Tier 3 noise and emissions regulations.

This versatile machine is a great addition to any contractor or producer™s fleet.  The Compact swing excavator is a full size excavator (163 HP) in a compact body; it offers the practicality of a minimal tail-swing excavator while maintaining the powerful performance to which Liebherr owners are accustomed.   Its engine power guarantees getting the job done in all terrains and its less than 6™ swing radius offers excellent maneuverability even in confined spaces. Whether working on the side of a highway trying to keep congestion to a minimum or working in the city on narrow busy roads.   A true multi-tasker, when equipped with Likufix Liebherr™s patented hydraulic quick-coupler system the R924 Compact Swing excavator performs the work of multiple machines, whether breaking concrete, grading, trenching or truck loading, all with a single machine.  Likufix couples both the attachment AND hydraulics, allowing the operator to quickly change from a simple backhoe bucket to a hydraulic hammer by only pressing a button all without ever leaving the cab.

The R924 Compact Swing excavator is manufactured with original Liebherr components and fully equipped with the latest technology available for the construction industry. Available in multiple configurations depending on the type of application and customer needs. The Operators™ Precision Challenge will take place at the Gold Lot outside the Las Vegas Convention Center from Tuesday, Feb 3 to Friday, Feb 5, 2009. About Liebherr

Liebherr is proud to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2009. The Liebherr family business was established in 1949 by Hans Liebherr. The invention of his first mobile tower crane was the foundation on which the company flourished. Today Liebherr is not only one of the world™s leading manufacturers of construction machinery but is also an acknowledged supplier of technically innovative user-oriented products and services in numerous other fields. Over the years the family business has grown into what is today a group of companies, employing a workforce of approx. 30,000 in more than 100 companies on all continents.

The decentrally organized Liebherr Group is divided into company units of manageable size, operating independently. This is to ensure proximity to the customer and the ability to respond flexibly to market signals in global competition. Operative management of the production and sales companies for the individual product segments is in the hands of divisional control companies. The Liebherr Group™s holding company is Liebherr-International AG in Bulle, Switzerland, which is entirely owned by members of the Liebherr family. The family business is already in the hands of the second generation and is jointly managed by Isolde Liebherr and Willi Liebherr.

Liebherr Construction Equipment Co. operates under the Earthmoving and Mining Technology™s (EMtec) division. Liebherr came to America in 1970 when Liebherr expanded beyond Europe to meet the needs of the North American market.  Liebherr Construction Equipment Co. is headquartered in Newport News, VA.
