Peterbilt 386/384

The Model 386 represents a thoughtful combination of the proven components and characteristics of the 389/388 conventional models with the aerodynamically friendly body of a 387. The 386 is favorite among our large fleets who place a premium on fuel economy and driver retention. It is also becoming a very popular choice for owner operators and small fleets who are becoming increasingly fuel conscious but still want the classic Peterbilt feel and ride quality.

The 386 features a set-back front axle for better maneuverability and legendary Peterbilt quality giving it some of the highest resale values in the industry. The Model 384 features a shorter BBC (bumper to back of cab) that is ideal for LTL, tanker, bulk and regional haul applications. It is also acailable with smaller-block engines for further fuel and weight-saving advantages.

*Be sure to check out our news release about how the Model 386 made history as the first ever class 8 hybrid truck.
