MITCHELL, SD – Trail King’s new Hydraulic Schnable System is engineered to load and unload wind tower sections without the use of a crane.
Hydraulic cylinders lower and tilt the pivoting tower on the gooseneck into position for its tower supports to be hooked into the inner flange of the wind tower section. These cylinders then lift the wind tower off the ground and into the transport position. And, because terrain at wind tower sites may oftentimes be less than ideal, these cylinders can also be used, if necessary, to adjust the ground clearance of the load.
Once at the site, the goosenecks lower the load to the ground and tilt their pivoting towers into position to be disconnected from the wind tower.
Trail King’s Hydraulic Schnable System can be hydraulically adjusted to fit a variety of wind tower flange diameters, and the 6-axle steering dolly can be adjusted to meet the turning radius requirements of a variety of wind tower section lengths.
In addition to the Hydraulic Schnable System, Trail King manufactures a complete line of trailers, including a wide variety of open deck trailers such as tags, tilts, detachables, hydraulic tails and sliding axles; end dump, bottom dump, and side dump trailers; live bottom trailers; pneumatic dry bulk trailers; and specialized multi-axle and extendable trailers for the specialized hauling industry.
