Exmark has introduced a spreader attachment for its stand-on aerator, which the company says enables landscape professionals to offer overseeding in conjunction with aeration programs.

“The Exmark Aerator Spreader Attachment is a response to our customers’ requests asking for a way to increase the versatility and revenue opportunities of the highly productive Stand-on Aerator,” said Lloyd von Scheliha, Exmark product manager. “By combining two important operations into one piece of equipment, operators will be able to do more in less time, leading to the increased profit potential of each program. Whether you overseed while aerating, or immediately following aeration, the seed has more opportunities for increased soil contact that’s vital to successful germination.”

Featuring a hopper capable of carrying up to 80 pounds of seed, Exmark says the spreader attachment makes quick work of large jobs. The company says that all controls are easy to access and give the operator the ability to activate the spinner or adjust spinner speed to change the broadcast width.

Exmark says that the operator can also easily open or close the seed gate or adjust the gate stop, and the attachment comes standard with a hopper cover to keep material dry and in the hopper during transport. A manual blocker door also gives the operator increased control around flower beds and sidewalks, Exmark says.

Exmark says that along with being simple to install on the Exmark Stand-On Aerator, after being installed the spreader can be removed from the aerator without tools in typically less than two minutes.

DeWalt expands its 20V MAX System

DeWalt has expanded its 20V MAX System with the addition of the 20V MAX Compact Cordless Chainsaw (DCCS620), which is specifically designed for use in construction applications. The company says that this chainsaw is a versatile option for tree work, demolitions and cutting timbers on the jobsite.

Featuring a 12 inch Oregon bar and chain that offers low kickback cutting in compact spaces, the 20V MAX also features tool-free tensioning and auto-oiling. It is equipped with an efficient brushless motor and, according to the company, can achieve up to 90 cuts per charge using a 20V MAX 5.0 Ah Lithium Ion battery (DCB205) on 4×4 inch pressure-treated pine wood.

Weighing only nine pounds, including the DCB205, DeWalt says this chainsaw is lightweight and optimized for small cuts in tight spaces. With the pull of the trigger, the chainsaw starts and eliminates the cold starts and carburetor issues that come with gas-powered chainsaws, DeWalt says. The company says that this gas-free option also makes the 20V MAX ideal for indoor cutting and demolition applications.

This chainsaw will be available in September 2017 and will join the expanding 20V MAX Outdoor Power Equipment family, which already includes a 20V MAX string trimmer, handheld blower and hedge trimmer and the FLEXVOLT Outdoor Power Equipment family. This also includes the 60V MAX FLEXVOLT string trimmer, handheld blower and chainsaw for high-power applications.

DeWalt says that its outdoor power tools come standard with a three-year limited warranty, 90-day money-back guarantee and one-year free service contract.

The DCCS620P1 has an MSRP of $229 and is kitted with one DCB205 battery. The DCCS620B has an MSRP of $149 and is a bare unit.

Bandit Industries revealed its new Model ZT1844 stump grinder, and the company says it is the most productive compact, track mounted stump grinder on the market.

Featuring the power and performance of every Bandit stump grinder, Bandit says it’s the ideal machine for rental companies or dedicated stump grinding professionals.

“The ZT1844 is designed from the ground up to outperform all other stump grinders in its class,” said Jason Morey, Bandit sales manager. “The wider swing arc covers more area when grinding at the stump. The taller grinding height and deeper grinding depth means you can tackle larger stumps and chase the roots deeper into the ground. And intuitive controls make grinding stumps easy, no matter if you’re a seasoned professional or a rental customer.”

This model is equipped with an 18-inch diameter Bandit cutterwheel featuring Green Teeth, and electronic engagement means it’s as simple as flipping a switch to engage the cutterwheel, according to Bandit. With the rubber track undercarriage, this machine can travel through uneven and rough terrain while still taking it easy on delicate lawns, the company says.

“We have two engine options available on the ZT1844,” Morey said. “Customers can get a standard 26 horsepower Kohler gasoline engine, or opt for a 38 horsepower Kohler engine. Both engines feature electronic fuel injection, so these units are easy to start, even on cold morning.”

Komatsu releases new WA200-8 wheel loader

Komatsu America Corp. recently introduced the new WA200-8 wheel loader, which is equipped with an EPA Tier 4 Final certified engine. The company says this addition to the wheel loader family combines high production with low fuel consumption and improved operator comfort.

Komatsu says that with its parallel-lift linkage and impressive breakout force, the WA200-8 is a versatile jobsite tool, which is useful in virtually any application from pallet handling to hard digging. When in the V-cycle and load-and-carry applications, Komatsu says that fuel consumption drops by up to four percent.

“The WA200-8 is a massive upgrade in operator comfort,” said Frank Nyquist, product manager, Komatsu America. “And the quick, change-on-the-fly coupler lets you move from moving bales to loading pallets to cleaning out feedlots or pushing into a pile with ease,” Nyquist said.

Standard under the hood/performance features of the WA200-8 include:

  • A 4.46 liter, 126 HP, EPA Tier 4 Final certified, SAA4D107E-3 engine.
  • Komatsu Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (KDOC) uses 100% passive regeneration without a diesel particulate filter.
  • The new SCR system reduces NOx emissions.
  • Fourth generation hydrostatic drivetrain with variable traction control and S-mode provides traction control to reduce wheel spin.
  • A knob on the RH console easily controls creep mode in first gear. This mode allows the operator to dial in travel speed from one to eight miles an hour.

Standard in-cab features of the WA200-8 include:

  • High-back, heated seat softens machine vibrations for operator comfort.
  • KOMTRAX telematics system and monitor provides key machine metrics, including KDPF status and DEF-level data, fuel consumption, plus performance information collected and sorted by operator ID.
  • Komatsu Auto Idle Shutdown reduces idle time and saves fuel.
  • Auxiliary audio jack and two 12-volt ports.
  • Seven inch, LCD color monitor with Ecology Guidance.
  • Full-color, rearview monitor.

Additional features of the WA200-8 include:

  • Swing out, hydraulically-driven cooling fan, with wider fin spacing and auto-reverse.
  • Gull-wing engine doors provide quick, convenient access for daily checks and service items.
  • Optional full-rear fenders.
  • DEF tank features a sight glass to discourage overfilling.

For the first three years, or 2,000 hours, the WA200-8 is covered by the Komatsu CARE program, whether rented, leased or purchased. Komatsu CARE includes a 50-point inspection at each service, scheduled factory maintenance and two complimentary Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) maintenance services and DEF tank flushes in the first five years.
