Attendees participating in the 2007 Golf Industry Show who visit the BASF Professional Turf & Ornamentals booth will have the chance to win MP3 players, DVDs and Rubik’s Cubes while being entertained by competitive Rubik’s Cube solver Tyson Mao. The show takes place in Anaheim, California, Thursday, Feb. 22 through Saturday, Feb. 24.
To participate in the “Win Bucks with BASF Giveaway,” superintendents can visit the BASF booth to pick up a “Better Turf” sticker to wear throughout the show. The BASF prize patrol will randomly award more than 100 $50 Visa gift cards to superintendents they see wearing the sticker at the show between Thursday and Saturday. All show attendees who visit the BASF booth will have the opportunity to play BASF Plinko for the chance to win a variety of prizes, including “Better Turf” Rubik’s Cubes, MP3 players and disease-identification glasses.
Mao, a former world champion in blindfold Rubik’s Cube solving, will showcase his skills at the BASF booth throughout the show. Mao can solve the puzzle in 20 seconds and recently helped teach actor Will Smith to “speed cube” for the film “The Pursuit of Happyness, currently in theaters.”
BASF will sponsor the Innovative Superintendent Breakfast before the Innovative Superintendent Sessions Thursday, Feb. 22 and Friday, Feb. 23. Ten superintendents will give presentations on a variety of business, communications and facility practices during the sessions, and the breakfast beforehand provides more opportunity for the superintendents to network and share information.
BASF will also participate in the Solutions Challenge, in which attendees solve golf course problems at 20 flagged booths at the show. Participants who complete the Solutions Challenge will be eligible for prizes, including $1,000 worth of BASF Insignia fungicide.
