Rain Bird’s rotor receives Smart Approved Watermark certification

Rain Bird’s 5000 PRS rotor has received Australia’s Smart Approved Watermark certification. To date, this rotor is the only one in the industry to receive this certification. An independent third-party testing facility found that Rain Bird’s pressure-regulated rotor reduced water use by 15 percent to 45 percent compared with non-pressure-regulated rotors currently on the market.

The 5000 PRS combines Rain Bird’s Rain Curtain nozzle technology with an in-stem pressure regulator to prevent misting and fogging and keep water on the turf. Four Australian agencies developed the Smart Approved Watermark certification program as a result of the country’s water shortage and strict water rationing measures.
