The Virginia Horticultural Foundation and Virginia Tech University’s Hampton Roads Agriculture Research and Extension Center will host a horticultural field day in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on September 10. The theme for the day is the “All Americas’ Horticulture Field Day” because two-thirds of the classes will be taught in English and translated in Spanish or taught in Spanish only.
Professionals in the Mid-Atlantic area will learn and receive hands-on training based on Virginia Tech faculty’s latest research. Topics include disease, weed and insect pest management, establishing turf and trees, new crops to increase fall sales figures, tools to protect river and stream water quality and bedrock horticultural skills and practices.
