PLANET has turned its attention to safety as it prepares for the Safety Recognition Awards Program.
Designed to reward landscape industry companies demonstrating safety, the Safety Recognition Award entires will be accepted until April 30. However, the awards are not designation for only landscape-related companies. All green industry companies and branches are invited to participate.
The award categories include no vehicle accidents, no injuries or illness, no days away from work as well as companies who participated in previous year’s programs are eligible for the most improved category.
Participants may also apply and qualify for the Overall Safety Achievement Awards, which honors companies with comprehensive and high-performing safety programs. Those companies that qualify not only have a complete safety program, but also demonstrate the safety performance in the workplace.
Companies that apply for the Safety Recognition Awards Program will also have their data included in the Safety Benchmarking Survey. Those companies not applying for the awards program can still complete the Safety Benchmarking Survey by submitting data on www.landcarenetwork.org/riskmgmt/benchmarking.cfm. Companies that fill out the survey will receive a free copy of the report so they can see how they compared with other companies. All data submitted is kept confidential.
