District to Give Reward for Water-Wise Landscaping

One district is willing to award residents for water-wise landscaping.

The Castle Pines North Metropolitan District in Colorado is hosting a xeriscape/water-wise landscape contest with $3,600 in water bill credits for participating customers, according to News-Press.

The categories for the contest include:

  • Resident/Homeowner amateur landscape
  • Homeowner professional landscape
  • Homeowner Association common areas landscape

The minimum landscaping for residential customers must include 400 square feet dedicated to xeriscape or water-wise landscaping. HOA contestants must dedicated at least 25 percent of the irrigated common areas or a minimum of 5,000 square feet.
