Updated Jun 4, 2013

2013_GIEThe Green Industry Conference (GIC) in conjunction with the GIE+EXPO will introduce a new education lineup this year.

Held in Louisville, Kentucky, on Oct. 23 to 25, the conference will feature education programs on the best marketing, sales, financial and human resource strategies for growing landscape industry businesses.

Fifty percent of the speakers will be new and will be bringing about new topics such as healthcare reform, employee development and marketing and growing their business, according to Barbara Scheibe, who chairs the conference.

The conference will also include a new Learning Lounge, which will include shorter, fast-paced presentations, one-on-one conversations with industry experience, the PLANET bookstore and a venue for casual networking.

Those who register for the conference will gain admission to the GIE+EXPO, which is the largest landscape industry and outdoor equipment show in the country, as well as the Hardscape North America.

GIC sessions are approved for PLANET Landscape Industry Certified recertification at 1 CEU per hour of instruction attended. PGMS and HNA educational sessions also qualify toward recertification.
