Compact wheel loaders at John Deere just got a little more compact.

The 8-foot tall 204K and 304K Compact Wheel Loaders are the newest additions to the John Deere line up and are designed 1 foot lower than any of the other company’s compact wheel loaders.

Both models feature rigid front and rear axels to meet the 8-foot height while lowering the center of gravity and increasing stability and the tipping load limit.

Featuring an Interim Tier 4 diesel engine and two-speed transmission with a top speed of 12 mph, both models come standard with an open operator station.

The boom, bucket and forward-neutral-reverse switch are on the same ergonomic lever for one-hand control.

If a wheel slips on soft terrain, the machines feature limited slip differential, which transfers that wheel’s power to the opposite wheel to restore traction.

The 204K and 304K feature articulated steering and a traverse-mounted engine.

Attachments can also be changed out with a push-button actuated skid-steer-style coupler. The machines can use a variety of attachments including blades, buckets, pushers, scrap and brush-tine grapples and augers.
