PLANET Releases 2014 Calendar of Events

planet_logo_colorPLANET, the Professional Landcare Network, has put together its calendar of events for 2014.

With more than 50 webinars annually and conferences nationwide, PLANET focuses on educating professionals in the areas of lawn care, landscape design/build/install and interior plant design.

Here is the full list of of events scheduled for 2014:

Lawn Care Summit 2013—Jan. 27-29, Nashville
The Lawn Care Summit features the latest research and trends in the lawn care industry. The conference offers education tracks for technicians, as well as for owners and managers. Programming, developed by leaders in the lawn care field, brings respected experts from national firms to share their thoughts on what the future holds and seasoned veterans to offer practical advice on how they are responding to current issues in the field.

TPIE Short Course—Jan. 22–24, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. 
Produced in partnership with FNGLA, PLANET, and OFA the TPIE Short Course, held in conjunction with FNGLA’s Tropical Plant Industry Exhibition, is a national educational conference created specifically for interiorscapers.

LMN Business Management Workshop—Jan. 27–28, Baltimore; Feb. 10–11, Philadelphia; Feb. 20–21, Indianapolis; Mar. 6–7 Los Angeles
The LMN Business Management Workshops are organized by PLANET and Landscape Management Network (LMN), and hosted by Caterpillar Equipment. These two-day hands-on workshops help contractors build the systems their companies need to create a more predictable, more profitable future. Landscape contractors from some of the industry’s landscape companies will lead the workshops.

Great Escape—Feb. 27–March 1, Disneyland, Anaheim, California
Great Escape is an annual destination meeting for upper-level management, owners, and key personnel. Attendees participate in educational sessions, small group discussions, and networking events but also have time to relax and bond with colleagues.

Student Career Days—March 20–23, Colorado State University
Student Career Days, “The National Collegiate Landscape Competition,” is the nation’s largest competition and Career Fair for students studying horticulture, landscaping and lawn care. Over the course of three days, some 900 students get to interact with industry leaders, network, participate in real-world competitive events and interview for job opportunities with top industry companies.

Interior Plantscape Symposium—April 10, Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania
The Interior Plantscape Symposium offers practical training for frontline staff as well as business education for owners and managers. Interiorscapers will walk away with knowledge and cutting-edge techniques that make them more efficient and innovative on the job.

PLANET Day of Service — April 22, Nationwide 
PLANET Day of Service will take place Monday, April 22. This grassroots effort allows industry professionals to create volunteer lawn care and landscape projects in their own communities which help to raise awareness about the importance of caring for green spaces.

Legislative Day on the Hill, Renewal & Remembrance at Arlington National Cemetery, July 28–29, Washington, D.C.
During the annual Legislative Day on the Hill, PLANET members from across the country converge on Capitol Hill to meet with legislators and discuss issues important to the industry. Prior to their meetings on the Hill, many of them participate in the largest single service event in the industry, Renewal & Remembrance at Arlington National Cemetery.

Green Industry Conference—Oct. 22-24, Louisville Marriott Downtown & Kentucky Expo Center, Louisville, Ky.
Timely, industry-specific educational sessions along with cutting-edge technology make for the biggest industry event of the year—the Green Industry Conference, held in conjunction with the GIE+EXPO and Hardscape North America in Louisville. Learn from leading industry experts and take advantage of the opportunity to test drive some of the latest equipment in the largest outdoor demonstration area, and to examine tools and supplies indoors.
