Attendees at GIE+EXPO (Green Industry & Equipment Expo) will have the opportunity to attend “Latino Link,” a series of workshops presented by the National Hispanic Landscape Alliance (NHLA). GIE+EXPO is scheduled for October 21-23 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.
The number of Hispanic Americans working in the landscape industry is growing. NHLA has expanded their seminar offerings during the tradeshow to include a breakfast session for dealers, three seminars for owners and managers of landscape businesses and two Spanish-language sessions for members of the Hispanic work force.
Topics of discussion will include engaging local Hispanics in English, reading body language, bridging cultural gaps, tips to avoid misunderstandings, accepting other cultures, what owners want from their Latino leaders and dealing with challenging customers. Seminars will include panels and group discussions. Some seminars require preregistration.
GIE+EXPO’s Dealer Day is set for Oct. 21, with all industry participants invited for the two remaining days of the annual event. An early-bird registration discount is available through Sept. 9. For more information or to register online, visit www.gie-expo.com.
