Felling Trailers’ custom-designed FT-20 IT-I trailer resulted from the company’s relationship with one of its dealers, who asked his Felling contact to meet with him and one of the dealer’s customers. The end-user customer’s main concerns were operator safety, capacity, tongue weight, equipment placement and rear overhang.
Landscape contractors, of course, typically share those concerns, making the custom design a good fit for green-industry professionals, according to the manufacturer.
The unusual tongue configuration allows turning clearance for rear steps or for a recessed mounted pintle on the rear of a utility truck. The jack is located so the operator has easy access, plus it’s bolted on, meaning it can be easily replaced in the event of damage.
Felling Trailers increased the deck length in the FT-20 IT-I to avoid rear overhang. Bolt-on side steps and grab handles are provided for safe access under most any conditions; and again, bolt-on steps ensure easy replacement in the event of damage. Plus, the entire trailer can be hot-dip galvanized to extend the life and appearance.
Felling Trailers will be displaying some of its custom trailer solutions at ICUEE (Booth #L175), which is set for Sept. 29 through Oct. 1 in Louisville, Kentucky. For more information, visit the company’s website.
