Stihl Inc. announced recently the promotion of Mark Scavillo to vice president of finance and information services. He had been director of strategic planning and control for the maker of outdoor power equipment.

Scavillo, who joined Stihl in 2009, replaces Bjoern Fischer in the vice president’s role. Fischer was named president of Stihl effective Jan. 1, 2016.

Fischer said Scavillo’s experience “in a key Stihl management position primed him for leading the financial and information services departments of our U.S. operations.”

Scavillo has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from American University and an international MBA from the University of South Carolina. Before joining Stihl Inc., he worked for SAP in Germany for more than six years in the internal audit department, then as the head of process governance.

Stihl Inc. is one of numerous subsidiaries of Stihl Holding AG & Co. KG, which is headquartered in Waiblingen, Germany. Stihl is routinely the top-selling maker of gas-powered landscaping equipment in the United States, and it’s the world’s No. 1 seller of chainsaws.
