With sales of utility task vehicles continuing to rise, Fisher Engineering will introduce two new UTV attachments this year: a poly hopper spreader in May and a V-plow in the fall.
Fisher, which has been manufacturing snow and ice control equipment for more than 65 years, says its new 11-cubic-foot spreader, the Poly-Caster UTV, will combine professional features of a larger spreader with a lightweight design tailored for utility vehicles.
The Poly-Caster UTV’s multi-angled hopper prevents bridging and clogging and provides maximum flow to the auger, the company says, and a quick-connect spinner assembly gives the operator easy access to the vehicle’s hitch. Fisher says the new model’s traverse auger delivery system automatically backs itself in and out until an obstruction is cleared or an adjustment has been made.
With a dual variable-speed control, operators can control the two 12-volt auger and spinner motors independently, the company says, precisely matching material flow and spread pattern to conditions.
In addition, the Poly-Caster UTV spreader is equipped with a standard top screen to break up large chunks of de-icing material during loading. The spreader features a heavy-duty steel frame, fitted tarp cover and standard vibrating inverted V with 12-volt vibrator.
Fisher says more information on the new spreader will be available in its online showroom in May.
Meanwhile, the company’s new Trailblazer UTV V-plow is expected to become available sometime this fall. It will be Fisher’s first plow for a utility vehicle and will be marketed to both professionals and consumers.
The Trailblazer V-plow is 6 feet wide, adjusting to 5 feet when fully angled, or in V-mode, to fit most sidewalks and pass through gates. Its double-acting, 1-inch angle cylinders will enable users to operate each wing independently or lock the wings together.
Fisher says the new V-plow is built with low-alloy steel components that are both stronger and lighter than traditional steel. The new model features a flared, 6-foot steel moldboard with six vertical ribs.
Its standard 5-inch steel cutting edge is coupled with a scrape lock feature to provide a clean scrape.
