Green people: News from Altoz, landscape architects, Takeuchi-US

Altoz, a manufacturer of zero-turn-radius (ZTR) mowers, announced recently the hiring of Randy Harris as a district sales manager. Harris will provide support for existing dealers and continue to grow the Altoz dealer network in Tennessee, Kentucky and surrounding areas.

“Randy is a seasoned veteran of the power equipment industry and will be a huge asset to the Altoz sales team,” said Dennis Brazier, Altoz CEO. “Over his extensive career, Randy has held just about every position in the power equipment industry, including repair, purchasing, operations, inventory management, distribution, sales and customer relations. He really understands the business from all perspectives.”

Harris has 37 years of experience in the OPE industry, serving most recently as territory sales and service manager for Power Distributors. He began his at Dickson Farmers Coop in his hometown of Dickson, Tennessee, where he oversaw operations, sales and repair for nearly 20 years.

Rhodeside & Harwell names new senior associate

Rhodeside & Harwell, an award-winning landscape architecture and planning practice, has promoted Jennifer L. Koch, AICP, to senior associate. Koch is an urban planner and project manager with expertise in community development and resilience, public engagement, active transportation, and environmental protection.

Currently, Koch is leading a multidisciplinary team in developing a master plan for a 960-acre site in the North Claymont area of New Castle County, Delaware. She is also managing the development of a bicycle and pedestrian master plan to enhance connectivity and safety for non-motorized travel in the city of Suffolk, Virginia.

Koch also recently led the land-use analysis for the Baker/Rhodeside & Harwell team that prepared the Greater RVA Transit Vision Plan for the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation. The analysis was a key element in evaluating transit alternatives for an eight-jurisdiction region.

Koch joined Rhodeside & Harwell in 2013, and previously worked with the Transportation Research and Education Center in Portland, Oregon; the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design in Chongqing, China; and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. She is certified through the American Institute of Certified Planners and is a member of the American Planning Association (APA). She has served as secretary-treasurer of the APA’s Sustainable Communities Division for the past two years.

Koch holds the Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University and a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric and oceanic science and a Certificate in Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Rhodeside & Harwell is based in Alexandria, Virginia, and has a design studio in New York.

Takeuchi-US appoints director of national accounts

Compact equipment maker Takeuchi-US has appointed Scott Place as director of national accounts. His primary duties include oversight of national rental accounts and potential large fleet buyers.

Place brings more than 20 years of experience managing rental locations, dealer locations and, more recently, some of the rental industry’s largest national accounts. A news release on his appointment says Place has a proven track record of managing sales teams.

He will be working out of Takeuchi’s U.S. headquarters in Pendergrass, Georgia.

“Scott’s experience in the construction equipment and rental industry has spanned two decades and will prove to be instrumental in growing our rental business,” said Clay Eubanks, president, Takeuchi-US.

Takeuchi manufactures compact excavators, skid steers, track loaders and wheel loaders.
