For landscape design-build companies, Vacuworx equipment is most likely to be used in projects involving pavers, retaining walls and the like. The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based manufacturer’s latest compact machine is the CM 3 modular vacuum lifting system.

Vacuworx is marketing the CM 3 as the most versatile in its class for companies using skid steers, track loaders and articulating wheel loaders, enabling them to handle materials such as concrete slabs, steel plates and pipe up to 6,600 pounds.

The company says the machine is the first vacuum lifting product of its kind and can be adapted for use in a wide range of applications.

With a standard mounting plate, the CM 3 weighs the same as a standard skid steer bucket, Vacuworx says, so it does not affect the lift capacity of the host machine.

The all-steel unit is designed to accommodate single or double pad configurations interchangeably and can lift a variety of material weights and sizes.

The adjustable spreader bar for double pads extends from 61 inches to 85 inches (measured from outside to outside of the seal channels). Flat and pipe pads are sold separately to fit specific needs.

The CM 3 is operated by a hydraulically driven vacuum pump, using the auxiliary hydraulics from the host machine (minimum 10 gpm required with maximum 3,000 psi). With quick-connect hydraulic hoses and a universal mounting plate assembly, the CM 3 can be attached to a number of manufacturers’ machines in minutes, Vacuworx says.

The new machine is equipped with a factory pre-set flow control valve to ensure optimal performance with any equipment. The CM 3 comes with steel legs for storage that can either be removed or rotated up when the system is in use.
