Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Supply’s vice president of sustainability, Warren Gorowitz, has been inducted into the Green Industry Hall of Fame for his work over the past 22 years.

Gorowitz is an Irrigation Association Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor and Texas Licensed Irrigator. He is also the president-elect of the Irrigation Association.

Gorowitz has a bachelor’s of science in ornamental horticulture from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo as well as an executive master’s of sustainability leadership from Arizona State University.

“It’s an honor to be part of a great group of highly regarded people who have contributed so much to the green industry,” he said.

The Green Industry Hall of Fame was created to honor and remember those who have worked, invented and changed the green industry with their contributions. The awards have been held annually since 2005 and inductees are chosen from many divisions in the industry.

Gorowitz is the third Ewing inductee, following Ray York in 2012 and Sue York in 2013.

Robomow to merge with subsidiary of MTD Products Inc.

One of MTD Products Inc.’s subsidiaries has entered into a merger agreement with F. Robotics Acquisitions Ltd., the makers of Robomow.

The merger is expected to closer around July 2, 2017, pending governmental and other approvals. The acquisition is planned to combine Robomow’s technology and robotic lawn mowers with MTD’s broad outdoor power equipment portfolio and global network of dealers.

Robomow_logoMTD plans to explore ways to foster demand for robotic technology in residential lawns in North America, as the innovation has already become popular in Europe with the market growing globally at a rate of 15 percent or more annually.

“Both MTD and Robomow see tremendous opportunities to grow our brands through this merger of our products and talents,” said Rob Moll, CEO of MTD Products. “Initially, we will be looking to market Robomow under our Cub Cadet and WOLF-Gardten brands. At the same time, we expect the Robomow brand to profit from MTD’s global reach and presence.”

After the merger, Robomow will remain based in Pardesiya, Isreal, and will continue to work toward rapid growth and innovation. The company has launched six generations of robotic lawn mowers for residential use since 1995.

MTD already sells the Cub Cadet RG3, a robotic mower for golf greens, but partnering with Robomow will allow it to spread into the residential market for robotic mowers.

Branch managers oversee all business and service functions within its region. Account managers drive customer relations and growth while production managers handle the day-to-day operations. Both the account managers and production managers report to the branch manager.

“We’re dedicated to supporting our team members and developing their careers at LandCare,” said Mike Bogan, CEO. “It’s exciting to see what these individuals have accomplished. In one example, we recruited an individual out of college and now he’s the account manager of a branch. As LandCare continues to grow, we’re deeply focused on creating more opportunities for our employees.”
