From a mower lift with mojo to seed-safe herbicide, here are noteworthy new products for landscapers.
Lift Your Mower Safely
Instead of tilting your mower or placing it on blocks to sharpen blades, replace belts or remove debris, turn to the MoJack for a safer alternative. The MoJack EZ lifts lawn tractors and zero-turn units with wheel pads that expand from 35 ½ to 47 ½ inches and a lifting capacity of 300 pounds. For larger units, the MoJack XT and MoJack Pro have lifting capacities of 500 pounds and 750 pounds respectively.
The MoJack EZ and XT operate on a secure screw jack system with automatic locking pins that engage when lowering the equipment, while the MoJack Pro uses a self-locking winch. There are about 800 MoJack dealers across the country, and the units are now available at stores such as Home Depot and Tractor Supply Company.
FUEL EFFICIENT
The Stihl FS 360 C-E and FS 460 C-EM brushcutters are 20 percent more fuel efficient than previous models and ideal for cutting wild growth, woody scrub and bushes. The brushcutters use an M-Tronic engine that automatically adjusts to changes in elevation, temperature and air filter cleanliness.
HERBICIDE SAFE FOR SEEDING
Syngenta’s Tenacity herbicide can be used at seeding, including bare-ground renovation seeding or selective overseeding. Use it for pre- and post-emergence weed control on cool-season turfgrasses such as tall fescue, perennial ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass. The active ingredient, mesotrione, controls more than 40 broadleaf weeds and undesired grasses and sedge.
MULTI-POSITIONAL WINGS
Pro-Tech’s Sno Tech attachments for winter maintenance come with a universal coupler for attaching to skid steers, as well as a rear-mount option for compact tractors. They have 1-foot-wide, multi-positional wings that can be manually adjusted to nine different positions.
SOFTWARE IN ESPAĂ‘OL
Drafix Software released a Spanish version of its Pro Landscape design software that includes all the functionality of the English version. Landscapers can create designs and communicate these plans with potential clients using the software. With 2D site plans and 3D renderings from any design project, Pro Landscape is a design, sales and communication tool that gives customers a realistic presentation of the proposed project.
