As the particulars of landscaping and lawn-care tasks change with the seasons, Bobcat wants professional landscape contractors to consider the benefits of owning a utility task vehicle (UTV) powerful enough to use a variety of attachments.
The Bobcat 3650 is one such vehicle, with a lift height of 2 feet and a capacity of 500 pounds. The 3650 uses Bobcat’s Multi-Attachment X-Change, or “MAX,” system and can use several attachments, including a mower, broom, snow blower and snow blade, among others. Mounting those attachments, the company says, is fast and easy.
With power take-off (PTO) in front and a hydrostatic transmission, the 3650 is powered by a diesel engine. Its modular cab has heat and air-conditioning for use in virtually any weather.
Bobcat says it UTV attachments are made to the same high standards as the company’s other machinery. “Nothing about them is light duty,” a Bobcat spokesperson said.
Here’s a brief rundown of a few of the 3650’s attachments, which are positioned and operated with Bobcat’s joystick control:
MOWER
With the first day of fall still more than week away, there’s still time to give the mower attachment a workout. The cutting height for the PTO-driven mower blades can be set from 2 inches to 4.5 inches. The blades can be locked into the raised position when not in use. Bobcat says its mower attachment also is equipped with “anti-scalp wheels that glide over uneven terrain.”
ANGLE BROOM
While the angle broom can be used for light snow in winter, commercial and institutional maintenance jobs are likely to require leaf removal for a few months before the snow arrives. The attachment uses a PTO-driven, rotating broom that sweeps dirt, snow and other debris away from the machine. Bobcat says the angle broom will continuously sweep debris ahead of the UTV or angle the broom to windrow material to the side. The broom bristles have a waved design, which leaves a cleaner path and can sweep more snow or debris in one pass.
SNOW BLOWER
The snow-blowing attachment for the 3650 UTV also uses direct power from the PTO, enabling it to throw and blow snow even in deep areas and banks. A 12-inch-diameter auger provides plenty of capacity for grounds maintenance crews. Among other features, the hydraulic chute rotator enables you to rotate the chute and throw snow exactly where you want it, with 227 degrees of rotation.
SNOW BLADE

Whether it’s clearing snow in the winter or light grading in the summer, Bobcat says, the 69-inch snow blade attachment will quickly move and discard materials. The integrated joystick control can raise, lower and angle the blade up to 30 degrees left or right. Adjustable depth skid shoes prevent scraping by holding the height of the blade to clear obstructions such as manhole covers or parking lot cracks. It also acts as a parking stand for quick and easy hook up. Rubber and poly cutting edges are available to prevent sparks and surface gouges.
