Scrapbook: Bare hillside becomes rock garden

Private residence
Toledo, Ohio
Landscaping designed and installed by Nature’s Way Water Gardens, Toledo, Ohio

The homeowners and their friends now enjoy the sights and sounds of this elaborate water feature, installed where a plain, boring backyard used to be. Ralph Collins Jr., owner of Nature’s Way, built a 35-foot descending stream bed with cascading waterfalls that disappear into a pondless rock garden. Ferns, hostas, coleus, bromeliad and potted tropical house plants complete the look. Price: $4,500
