Scrapbook: Dated pool becomes modern water feature landscaping

An “L”-shape pool from the 1970s needed an overhaul, and the homeowners wanted a water feature they could enjoy. At 35 feet by 25 feet, the feature has multiple waterfalls and pumps just over 11,000 gallons per hour. The pool was filled with concrete from the demolished deck and patio surrounding the area; then ponds and berms were shaped. Multiple sizes of “moss rock” stone give the feature a natural look and feel. Classic Scapes installed 1,000 square feet of blue flagstone with closed joints to surround the water feature. A pergola, made of rough cedar and set on painted fiberglass columns, adds interest to the landscape.
