Project: Private residence,
Greensboro, North Carolina
Landscaping: Artistic Lawnscapes,
Greensboro, North Carolina

The homeowner needed additional entertaining space in this small backyard. Artistic Lawnscapes’ solution was a beautiful concrete paver patio. The patio was raised about 7 feet with a segmental retaining wall system to accommodate final grading for the patio. The addition of various trees, shrubs and perennials softens the area and adds needed color.

Endless relaxation

Project: Private residence,
Louisville, Ohio
Landscaping: Todd’s Enviroscapes,
Louisville, Ohio

Todd’s Enviroscapes transformed a lifeless backyard into a vibrant entertaining area with a stone fireplace. Specimen plantings are tucked around the pergola in showcase beds. Regardless of where they sit, the owners and their visitors are sitting in the outdoor room and there is something beautiful and interesting to look at. If it rains, a roll-away canopy can be unfurled atop the pergola.

Functional during day and at night

Project: Private residence,
Vancouver, Washington
Landscaping: Woody’s Custom Landscaping, Vancouver, Washington

The homeowners wanted a serene environment for their home nestled in the Pacific Northwest. Woody’s installed about 3,000 square feet of cobble paver driveway, including a raised concrete curb to add definition. Gravel pathways encircle the house and meander through native plantings. In the center planting area, they built a 5-foot-deep koi pond and installed native plants to match the natural feel of the river in the backyard. Plantings include snow berries and hemlocks.
