To help break up the monotony of your Monday, the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards (CWPA) have rolled out another batch of funny, furry friends that are sure to give you the pick-me-up you’ve been craving.

Now in its fourth year, the CWPA were founded by photographers Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam who say they wished to spotlight wildlife conservation while adding humor to wildlife photography.

The CWPA says the competition works alongside the Born Free Foundation to promote wildlife conservation through a positive and funny message.

This year, the CWPA says thousands of photographers from across the globe entered their images. Of these, 41 finalists were first chosen, and the winners were then announced and collated in the official book.

For this year’s contest, the CWPA says there were eight categories: the Video Category, Under The Sea, Amazing Internet Portfolio, Junior Category, Spectrum Photo Creatures of the Air, Alex Walker’s Serian Creatures of the Land, Affinity People’s Choice Award and the Overall Winner.

The CWPA says each category winner will be awarded a camera bag from THINK TANK, as well as a certificate and the prestige of winning.

As overall winner, Mary McGowan will win a safari to Kenya, courtesy of Alex Walker’s Serian. She will also win a trophy handmade by disabled men and women at the Wonder Workshop in Tanzania, a bag from THINK TANK, an iPad preloaded with the Affinity software and the title of Comedy Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2018.

The CWPA also announced that the second volume of their book is now available for purchase.
