BOMAG Launches New Recycler/Stabilizer With More Power, Greater Cutting Depth

Updated Sep 30, 2010

LAS VEGAS BOMAG has introduced a new recycler/stabilizer with more power, greater cutting depth and a unique height-adjustable operator’s station.

The new MPH125 features a turbocharged 590-horsepower, Tier 3 compliant water-cooled Deutz diesel engine. Equipped with an electronic injection system that ensures low fuel consumption, the compact yet powerful V8 engine drives a 91.7-inch wide rotor with a 21.7-inch maximum cutting depth. A 99.6-inch wide rotor is also available as an option.

The MPH125 is equipped with an operator’s station that rises for normal operation and lowers to reduce overall transport height to just 122 inches. The operator’s station is mounted on the rear frame, giving the operator an optimal view of the work area at all times. A laterally sliding and pivoting workstation provides outstanding visibility to either side of the machine. The comfortable seating position, spacious legroom and ergonomic display and controls reduce operator fatigue and increase productivity.

Like all BOMAG recycler/stabilizers, the MPH125 features hydrostatic rotor drive with integrated overload protection to ensure optimal efficiency while keeping maintenance requirements to a minimum. Rotor speeds from 90 to 130 rpm can be selected under load in order to match the requirements of the site. The rotor’s mixing chamber automatically adjusts with the cutting depth for uniform mixing of material.

The standard universal rotor is 56 inches in diameter and has 224 cutting teeth. The rotor works in an up cut direction in order to keep teeth cool and can be oscillated ± 5o cross-slope for shaping profiles or irregularities. The design of the rotor hood allows cutting of material close to both sides.

The MPH125 utilizes an all-wheel hydrostatic drive system with electronic traction control for reliable operation on severe grades or in difficult traction conditions. Ample power is available for pushing water trucks. An articulated frame plus rear-wheel steering give the MPH125 an inside turning radius of 148 inches for outstanding jobsite maneuverability.

For operator safety, the MPH 125 features automatic rotor shutdown when lifting the rotor out of the soil, safety shutdown when changing the rotor teeth and automatic brake operation after engine shutdown or in case of emergency stop.  Integral ROPS/FOPS is standard while a low center of gravity provides high tipping resistance.

Maintenance points on the MPH125 have been minimized and conveniently positioned for quick, easy access.  A central lubrication system automatically lubricates all bearings on the machine. The engine and hydraulic components can be easily reached through large service doors.

Bolt-on rotor end segments can be individually replaced, eliminating the need to remove the entire rotor. Rotor tooth replacement is simple with a knock-out/knock-in design. For added convenience, the MPH125 is equipped with an air compressor for cleaning the machine and use with a pneumatic hammer for fast tooth changes. A push-button actuator allows slow turning of the rotor to any position.

A pressure-ventilated cab with filtered fresh air, heating and air conditioning is available as an option. Other optional equipment includes a 420 gpm water metering system.
