Stone Adds 84 Dirt Roller

Updated Oct 6, 2010

Stone Construction Equipment, Inc. now offers even more power and performance in the new Rhino® 84X Vibratory Dirt Roller. This ride-on 84″ roller joins the 43″, 54″, 66″ models currently in the Rhino line and is the first step in moving Stone into heavier equipment.

Lynne Woodworth, President and CEO, said upon introducing the Rhino 84X, “This roller, is in response to our customer’s requests for larger dirt rollers rounding out our Rhino Vibratory Dirt Roller line. Stone has a leading position in marketing light equipment, being known particularly for mixers. With the addition of the Rhino 84X, we are expanding our emphasis on our compaction line.”

The 12-ton Rhino 84X powerhouse offers convenience and comfort features standard, that you pay extra for on competitive models, like the fully equipped cab. The roller is powered by a 130 hp Cummins water-cooled diesel engine and heavy-duty Sauer-Danfoss® hydraulic components. The machine also features dual amplitude with a choice of high or low compaction forces up to 63,000 lb. for optimum compaction on any soil.

Choose from either the smooth drum configuration or get the added versatility of two rollers in one with a smooth drum roller with the optional padfoot drum conversion kit. Each is packed with the power, impact, and performance to handle any job.

The Stone Rhino 84″ also lowers overall lifetime costs with serviceability features that reduce downtime and maximize uptime. Features like extra-large hydraulic tanks, extended service intervals for engine oil and filter change, maximum access to all service components, same-day parts response and no parts minimum help to keep the Rhino on the job, not in the shop.
