BOMAG’s New BPR25/40 Series Reversible Plates Combine Compact Size with Reversibility and Higher Force

Updated Oct 6, 2010

KEWANEE, Ill. BOMAG’s new BPR25/40 series reversible plates have the compact size and maneuverability of a single-direction plate, but offer a higher centrifugal force and the convenience of reversibility.

With a working width just under 16 inches, the compact size of the BPR25/40 series allows it to work in confined areas larger reversible plates cannot reach. That makes the series ideal for landscaping, site prep, patios and sidewalks and other mid-size applications.

Ideal for work on granular material as well as cohesive and mixed soils, the new BPR25/40 series includes two models:  the BPR25/40 features a 5.36-horsepower Honda air-cooled gasoline engine, while the BPR25/40D offers a 4.15-horsepower Hatz air-cooled diesel engine.

Both models feature a new vibratory exciter design that gives them a faster working speed than the models they replace as well as improved gradeability on all types of soil. They also have a nodular cast iron base plate that provides superior durability, giving the machines a longer service life.

Maximum frequency is 5,100 vibrations per minute. Both the vibration direction and throttle controls are conveniently located on the steering rod.

For maximum safety and comfort, the new units feature a steering rod with built-in vibration buffers, which help reduce the amount of vibration transferred to the operator. Additionally, the steering rod is height adjustable to accommodate any operator and is lockable in both the transport and working positions.

Both models also feature a fully protected V-belt, lifetime lubricated vibration bearings, reinforced self-adjusting centrifugal clutch and engine protection bow with lifting point.

The gasoline-powered BPR25/40 also features a maintenance-free transistor ignition, large-volume dry air filter with cyclone-type precleaner and automatic shutdown at low oil level.  The diesel-powered BPR25/40D comes with semi-automatic decompression for easier starting. Options include a sprinkler system for use on asphalt, a transport device and a vulcolan mat to prevent scuffing when compactors are used on paving block.
