BX-SERIES SINGLE DIRECTION VIBRATORY PLATE COMPACTORS PROVIDE OPTIMAL COMPACTION IN COMPACT SIZES

Updated Oct 6, 2010

STATESVILLE, N.C. – Doosan Infracore Portable Power offers a wide range of single-direction, vibratory plate compactors suitable for any application. These models provide contractors with operator-friendly features that make for more efficient, convenient operation. These compactors are used for the compaction of granular soils, crushed aggregates, and hot mix asphalt (HMA) on small- to large-sized open jobsites.

Key features of the BX-Series models include a compact vibratory plate design that offers great maneuverability on the jobsite, compaction in confined areas, and fold-over handles that provide ease of storage. They also have the highest centrifugal forces in the industry, and the only handle-mounted ratcheting throttle designed for improved control around jobsite obstacles.

All six models are powered by a rugged Honda four-cycle engine at 3,600 revolutions per minute, with recoil start engineered to provide years of dependable operation. For the compaction of HMA, each unit is equipped with a standard water sprinkler system and a steel base plate, which outperforms other base plate materials by heating up to optimal temperature faster thus creating a smooth mat finish. All models are also fitted with standard vibration-reducing, padded grip handles that are fully adjustable to maximize operator comfort and transport convenience.

The BX-Series consists of two groups of vibratory plate compactors – a premium line consisting of the BX-60WH, BX-80WH and BX-120WH models, and an economic line with the BX-6WH, BX-8WH and BX-12WH models.

For high-grade productivity and maneuverability the premium line features a large removable polyethylene water tank and a beveled-edge base plate with lifting handles.  The BX-60WH has an operating weight of 182 pounds (83 kilograms) and delivers a centrifugal force of 3,400 pounds (15.3 kiloNewtons) and a vibration frequency of 5,600 vibrations per minute. It travels at a maximum speed of 82 feet per minute, with an area capacity covering 6,943 square-feet per hour. The compaction depth of the BX-60WH is recommended to 12 inches (300 millimeters).

The BX-80WH has an operating weight of 207 pounds (94 kilograms) with a centrifugal force of 4,000 pounds (18 kiloNewtons) and a vibration frequency of 5,600 vibrations per minute. It travels at a maximum speed of 82 feet per minute, with an area capacity covering 8,073 square-feet per hour. The compaction depth of the BX-80WH is recommended to 14 inches (350 millimeters).

The BX-120WH has an operating weight of 244 pounds (111 kilograms) with a centrifugal force of 5,700 pounds (25.4 kiloNewtons) and a vibration frequency of 5,600 vibrations per minute. It travels at a maximum speed of 82 feet per minute, with an area capacity covering 8,881 square-feet per hour. The compaction depth of the BX-120WH is recommended to 16.5 inches (410 millimeters.)

The economic line features a standard fixed polyethylene water tank and compact design to deliver performance and functionality in confined spaces. The BX-6WH has an operating weight of 150 pounds (70 kilograms) and delivers a centrifugal force of 2,650 pounds (11.8 kiloNewtons). The BX-8WH operates at 195 pounds (90 kilograms) with 3,300 pounds (14.7 kiloNewtons) of centrifugal force. The BX-12WH operates at 245 pounds (110 kilograms) with 4,630 pounds (20.6 kiloNewtons) of centrifugal force. Recommended compaction depth ranges from 12 to 16 inches (300 to 405 millimeters).

Other standard features on the BX-Series include a belt drive to the eccentric shaft, and an oil bath exciter bearing lubrication to eliminate the need for routine greasing. The BX-Series has a removable eccentric housing for ease and economy of repair. An engine protection cage prevents damage to the plate’s components and has an integrated lifting bail.
