DOOSAN INFRACORE PORTABLE POWER OFFERS THE LARGEST LINEUP OF WALK-BEHIND VIBRATORY ROLLER COMPACTORS

Updated Oct 6, 2010

STATESVILLE, N.C. – Efficient compaction is easily achieved with the full line of single- and double-drum walk-behind compactors from Doosan Infracore Portable Power.

The SX- and DX-Series compactors are designed for high productivity in hot mix asphalts (HMA) and in applications involving mixed soils and sub-base aggregates. These compactors provide an efficient way to achieve jobsite productivity, optimal density and smooth, quality mat finishes, while delivering the best combination of rolling width, static weight, centrifugal force and frequency.

The SX- and DX-Series represent the largest offering of walk-behind compactors on the market with a total of six models ranging from the compact, efficient SX-170H single-drum compactor delivering 2,000 pounds (8.9 kiloNewtons) of centrifugal force, to the impressive DX-700E with 4,492 pounds (20 kiloNewtons) of centrifugal force.

The SX-170H, DX-600H and DX-700H models are powered by rugged Honda four-cycle gasoline engines for dependable operation. All were designed with the same superior performance features as the diesel offering of the DX-500E, DX-600E and DX-700E, which utilize liquid-cooled Kubota diesel engines. All DX-Series models feature standard electric start.

The SX-170H single-drum unit has a drum diameter of 17.7 inches (450 millimeters), a drum width of 22 inches (560 millimeters) and an operating weight of 595 pounds (270 kilograms).  With a curb clearance of 13.4 inches (340 millimeters) and side clearance of 0.75 inches (20 millimeters), the SX-170H is optimal for work adjacent to curbs and walls.

The DX-500E has a drum diameter of 14 inches (356 millimeters), a drum width of 22.6 inches (575 millimeters), an operating weight of 1,300 pounds (590 kilograms) and offers 2,654 pounds (11.8 kiloNewtons) of centrifugal force. The DX-600E has a drum diameter of 14 inches (356 millimeters), a drum width of 25 inches (635 millimeters) and an operating weight of 1,410 pounds (640 kilograms). The DX-600H is slightly lighter with an operating weight of 1,345 pounds (610 kilograms) and both deliver 3,086 pounds (13.7 kiloNewtons) of centrifugal force.  All three ” DX-500E, DX-600E and DX-600H models – provide 8.7 inches (220 millimeters) of curb clearance, which combined with their narrow side clearance and compact footprint allow for operation in confined spaces.

The DX-700E has a drum diameter of 16 inches (406 millimeters), a drum width of 25.5 inches (650 millimeters) and an operating weight of 1,630 pounds (740 kilograms). The DX-700H has an operating weight of 1,565 pounds (710 kilograms) and both deliver 4,492 pounds (20.0 kiloNewtons) of centrifugal force, providing an industry-leading 9.7 inches (249 millimeters) of curb clearance.

Maneuverability is enhanced with the SX- and DX-Series through the compactor’s hydrostatic propulsion system, which allows operators to vary rolling speed to meet application demands without changing the governing engine speed.

Standard features include fold-up handles for easy storage and transportation, a center-mount lifting hook, water sprinkler system and an automatic safety shut-off.
