WACKER to build new Ground Heater facility

Updated Oct 7, 2010

Norton Shores, Michigan Wacker Corporation is currently building a new manufacturing facility for the Ground Heaters operation in Norton Shores, Michigan. The new 151,000 square foot manufacturing facility sits on a 34-acre parcel near US Highway 31. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in August 2007 and completion of the project is expected in the second half of 2008.

Wacker Corporation, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin purchased Ground Heaters, Inc., in 2006. The company is a leading manufacturer of portable hydronic heating equipment for the construction industry on the North American market. This significant investment of a new facility is expected to make production processes for the utility business more efficient and to furthermore create additional jobs on top of the current 30 full time employees currently working at the Ground Heaters Spring Lake, MI facility.

The new and expanded operations will produce climate control products for the construction industry including hydronic heaters, air heaters and dehumidifiers. Wacker light towers will also be assembled in the new facility.
