WACKER introduces new Light Balloon

Updated Oct 7, 2010

Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin WACKER is expanding its lighting products with the addition of the LB 1 Light Balloon.  This new light balloon quickly and easily brings glare-free light to the construction site so crews can keep working in evening, night and low light conditions.  The LB 1 is ideal for general job site illumination, road work (non-glare), indoor illumination of concrete pours, party rentals, etc.

WACKER’s newest lighting solution offers a 1000 Watt metal halide balloon light, tripod and 120 Volt portable ballast creating a powerful and portable lighting package.  The balloon’s heavy duty translucent white nylon diffuses light evenly with no glare and reduces shadows and contrast for bright clear light.  The upper portion of the balloon is a reflective aluminum coated, durable Kevlar fabric that reflects the light down, maximizing lumen output at ground level.

WACKER’s new rugged light balloon tripod system is easy to set up and take down and offers two anchoring options for added stability; carabineers for tie down and staking through the bottom of the legs. The three-piece stainless steel tripod is height adjustable up to 13.5 feet and is intended for outdoor use.

The new LB 1 portable lighting package weighs 93.6 pounds and provides 99,000 lumens (mean) covering over 35,700 sq. ft. area at 1-foot candle.  A simple, one step mechanical opening system eliminates noisy fans, and holds its shape in windy conditions. The new light balloon complements WACKER’s line of utility equipment that includes a line of line towers, portable and mobile generators.
