Atlas Copco Expands Line of Generators

Updated Oct 20, 2010
Since its introduction, Atlas Copco’s QAS portable generator range has been the perfect choice to power a wide range of electrical equipment in different applications. The newest offering the line is the QAS 330 generator with 350 kVA of standby power.

The high performance QAS 330 kVA features low exhaust emissions in line with the most current Tier III regulations. The generator is powered by a John Deere, six-cylinder diesel engine with direct injection, turbo-charged and inter-cooled offering 362 hp at 1800 rpm.

Atlas Copco QAS series generators are renowned for their low noise operation. A sound attenuated and rugged Zincor steel enclosure on the QAS 330 ensures the unit emits just 73 dba at 23 ft at 75 percent load.

Service efficiency increased up-time

One of Atlas Copco’s focus areas was to ensure the reliability of the unit to boost the customer’s uptime and thereby his productivity and revenue. For the new design, special attention was given to ease of installation and operation, service and safety. Large doors and service plates ensure superior accessibility to all service points. All critical service points are located on one side of the generator (single-side servicing point). The units have a 500 hour service interval.

Increased transport efficiency

The compact and safe concept together with the sturdy design ensures increased transport efficiency. The units are easy to transport and easily maneuvered on the jobsite. With their smaller size they are ideal for urban use where space constraints are a common issue. The fuel tank is centrally placed so that regardless of how much the fuel tank is filled, the unit is in balance.

Versatility

With its superior standard configuration and extensive option list, the redesigned QAS 330 is able to power a wide range of applications in the demanding businesses of construction, contracting and rental.

Superior standard list

The new design is characterized by a more extended standard equipment list. The unit has as standard an external fuel tank connection and a spillage-free frame with integrated forklift pockets. Standard functions also include a battery switch, a dual-stage heavy duty air filter, a dual-stage fuel filter with water separation and an oil drain pump.

A large option list

A large number of optional extras are also available to suit a wide range of applications including a trailer with road signalization, ball coupling, spare tire, rear stabilizing jacks, tool box and many more.
