Leanburn gas generator sets are designed to provide reliable performance, high fuel efficiency and very low emissions for applications such as highhour peaking, prime power and combined heat and power (CHP).
Running on a lean mixture of fuel and air, this design significantly reduces the production of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and increases fuel efficiency. The result is a generator set with a high power output, maximum thermal efficiency and NOx emissions as low as 0.7 grams per brake horsepowerhour.

Optional factoryintegrated Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) aftertreatment reduces NOx emissions to levels that meet the most stringent air quality standards. Ranging in output from 315 kW to 2 MW, Cummins leanburn engines are capable of running on a variable quality gasfrom pipeline natural gas to field gas or even biogas with a methane number more than 40. Cummins Power Generation’s unique leanburn design combines high power densities and extended maintenance intervals for an economical solution to prime power or cogeneration needs.
New Generator Sets Feature Leanburn Technology
Leanburn technology is featured in a new line of gas engine generator sets from Cummins Power Generation ranging in size from 315 kW to 2 MW. Compact in size considering their power output, the new leanburn gas engine generator sets have been proven fuel efficient and clean burning in numerous installations around the world. The QSV91G model produces an output of 1.75 MW at either 50 or 60 Hz and features a Cummins 91 liter, 18cylinder sparkignited leanburn natural gas engine with turbocharging and aftercooling. The QSV81G model produces an output of 1.570 kW at 50 Hz and features a Cummins 81 liter, 18cylinder sparkignited natural gas engine with turbocharging and aftercooling. The QSK19G model produces an output of 315 kWe at 50 Hz or 334 kWe at 60 Hz and features a 19 liter, 6cylinder sparkignited natural gas engine with turbocharging and aftercooling.
