Subaru Introduces Line of Conventional Generators Powered by New EX Engine Models

Updated Oct 21, 2010

LAKE ZURICH, Ill. – Three new conventional generators from Subaru feature the latest models of EX series overhead cam engines. Available models include the RGX5100, RGX7100 and RGX7800. The generators are constructed of heavy-duty steel, making them durable enough to meet the demands of contractors, homeowners and recreational users.

The RGX5100 is powered by the EX30, a 10-horsepower engine. The unit delivers a maximum output of 5,000 watts (4,200-watt standard output rating) and offers a continuous operation time of 8.3 hours.

Powered by the 12-horsepower EX35 engine, the RGX7100 delivers a maximum output of 7,100 watts (5,000-watt standard output rating) and provides 8.3 hours of continuous operation.

The RGX7800 utilizes the 14-horsepower EX40 engine and delivers a maximum output of 7,800 watts (6,000-watt standard output rating). This unit can operate continuously for 7.5 hours.

All models are available with either a recoil or electric starting system (models RGX5100E, RGX7100E and RGX7800E). A high surge capacity allows the generators to take on up to 150 percent of the rated power for as long as 20 seconds. Each unit houses a large zinc-plated steel fuel tank and durable electric components that feature copper windings with high temperature insulation. Reliable overload protection is provided on the units, thanks to the solenoid-actuated AC circuit breakers, and GFCI receptacles help ensure operator safety.

Standard on all models, an automatic idle control lowers the engine speed when no electrical power is needed. This further lessens fuel consumption while minimizing noise. Other standard features include an hour meter, low oil level sensor and shutoff, and low-tone muffler with a U.S. Forestry-approved spark arrestor. Two-wheel kits are optional.

In addition to its conventional generators, Subaru also offers a line of inverter generators. All Subaru equipment is backed by an industry-leading, 3-year limited warranty that covers parts and labor.

Subaru generators are manufactured by Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd., Japan.
