Buffalo Grove, IL September 2, 2008 Yanmar announces the expansion of the
MINIMAX series diesel engine solution for lawn and garden equipment, small
agricultural machines, utility vehicles and compact generators. Model number 3TNM72
is the newest version in this series. This 903cc threecylinder Tier IV compliant engine
utilizes Yanmar™s proprietary indirect injection technology to achieve low fuel consumption and emissions levels. The engine block for this ultra compact and high performance power plant employs Yanmar™s latest structural technology to achieve low vibration, noise and size.
High Power Density
Thanks to this brand new, highly efficient cylinder block design, Yanmar has been able
to achieve higher output levels relative to the size of the engine™s mass.
Compact Size
Due to the compact dimensions, the MINIMAX is a perfect fit for applications that
have tight space requirements and demand high, reliable power output. Additionally,
the universal base attachment design means the MINIMAX is perfectly suited as a
replacement engine for a variety of equipment.
Low Noise & Vibration
High rigidity is achieved by incorporating a ladder frame structure in the engine
block casting. This reinforcement allows the MINIMAX to operate with low noise and
further reduced vibration.
Environmentally Friendly
The MINIMAX incorporates Yanmar™s new proprietary MC type injection pump to
achieve precise fuel delivery, reduced fuel consumption and low emissions. This engine
is already compliant with EPA Tier 4 regulation.
Full Line Up
In addition to the TNV product line, the new MINIMAX series was first released last
year with the introduction of the 3TNM68 (784cc). The new MINIMAX, model 3TNM72, is bored and stroked to an overall 903cc displacement and delivers 20% more horsepower than similarly sized competitors. Both engines in this series will be built at the Yanmar engine manufacturing facility in the Shiga prefecture in Japan.
