Yanmar has announced availability of B20 compatible diesel engines across their product line. “The development is less the result of end user response and more the product internal corporate mindset”, says Jeff Williams, Yanmar”s National Sales and Marketing Manager for the Industrial Engine group. “Naturally, our researchers were investigating this posibility long before “bio-diesel fuel” became a catch phrase by the public. We even have dedicated facility designed to elevatee bio-diesel fuels to mainstream”s center stage” Williams adds.
Yanmar”s newest Research and Development operation is located in the bio-mass rich regions of Malaysia and will be the center of all Yanmar”s efforts into this discipline. This new facility is officially called the Yanmar Kota Kinabalu R&D Center. It sits on 12,000 m2 while the actual structure occupies 1,154 m2.
YKRC also conducts long term engine durability tests with bio-diesel fuels, monitors and supervises bio-diesel projects in AIndia and the UK, and continually analyzes the effectiveness of bio-diesel fuel as well as bio-lubricants.
