CASE UPGRADES CX135 AND CX225 EXCAVATORS TO TIER 3

RACINE, Wis. (Jan. 22, 2008) At the 2008 World Of Concrete show in Las Vegas, Case Construction Equipment announced that the Case CX135 and CX225 minimum swing radius excavators have been upgraded to Tier 3 certification, delivering improved fuel economy and productivity on the jobsite.

Featuring Tier 3-certified Isuzu engines that deliver 95 and 153 net hp (70.9 and 114.4 kW), the CX135 and CX225 excel at digging and lifting in the tightest work areas, from cramped downtown construction sites to work zones along busy highways. With operating weights of 29,631 and 53,223 pounds (13,440 and 24,141 kg), these machines combine the power of full-size excavators with the flexibility of compacts.

Unlike traditional excavators with prominent rear counterweights, the CX135 and CX225 feature a compact counterweight and boom placement that minimizes the work envelope, resulting in highly productive and maneuverable machines that are ideal for road and bridge work, residential projects and urban construction.

These excavators are also an excellent choice on wide-open job sites, delivering all the power, digging force and lifting capacity of a traditional excavator.

The cab on these excavators offers plenty of room and comfort features to enhance operator productivity, including excellent sight lines for a productive

working environment, an Isomount® system that cushions the entire cab from noise and vibration, a fully adjustable deluxe seat that accommodates any size operator and a swing-out door design for easy entrance and exit. Ergonomically designed and conveniently placed for ease of operation, the controls include one-touch idle, and one- or two-position mode selector for the greatest productivity. The CX225 includes a power-boost feature that delivers added muscle required to operate through extremely tough conditions.

Quick daily service checks from ground level and extended maintenance intervals keep the CX135 and CX225 on the job for more hours throughout the day for more profit potential. The high performance filtration circuit enables oil change intervals to be extended to every 500 hours.

The CX135 and CX225 deliver dig depths from 17 feet 11 inches to 22 feet (5.47 to 6.7 m). They also have substantial reach, with dig radiuses that range from 26 feet 6 inches (8.07 m) to 31 feet 11 inches (9.73 m). Bucket capacities range from 0.98 cubic yards (0.40 m3) on the CX135 to 1.53 cubic yards (1.17 m3) on the CX225.

Case offers a full range of compact, mid-sized and standard excavators up to 80 metric tons.
